WHAT IS ENERGY EFFICIENCY?
An energy efficient device has a high level of useful effect, i.e. small losses during transformation of one energy type to another. For instance, an “ordinary” light bulb transforms a great portion of electrical energy into thermal energy, but only a small portion into useful light energy. In that sense, it is an energy inefficient product. Improvement of energy efficiency means avoiding (reducing) energy losses without harming comfort, living standard or an economic activity and may be implemented both in energy production and energy consumption.
WHAT ARE REUSABLE ENERGY SOURCES?
The main reusable energy sources are: the sun (solar energy), wind, water in motion (rivers, high and low tide, sea waves), warmth inside of the earth (geothermal energy in the form of warm water or steam, the warmth of rocks) and biomass (wood, organic waste, residues from agricultural production and various oil plants).
